Most GS-2 Quetico trips start/finish at crane lake, MN. There is a Canada customs station here, so remote area border crossing (RABC) permits are not needed. Just bring your U.S. passport. From here, you will board a large powerboat with all our canoes/gear for transport 40 miles across Lac La Croix to our Quetico entry point. I fish all lakes in the western half of Quetico from this strategic Lac La Croix boat access. This tow-in/out saves three days of travel time vs. Entering Quetico from Ely and means a lot more fishing time on prime water. We return by this same towboat to crane lake on the afternoon of our eighth day.
